Warm compress

Repeat the process for several times as long as you feel comfortable.

Tea bags

Don’t throw away your tea bags the day you experience something on your eyelid with a painful red bump, a sty.  Your tea residue can work excellently in diminishing the pain of a sty. Just collect the tea bag you have just taken out from the cup. Let it get cold and then apply it on the styes. Make sure that you are applying the tea bag very gently and the tannin is not going into the eye.

Potato

Potato is one of the commonly used home remedies for styes. You can always find a potato in the kitchen. You have to peel a potato and slice it. Then crush a couple of slices to make a paste. Now, apply the paste on the affected eyelid and rub it lightly. Leave the application for a few minutes before you remove it. This remedy helps to reduce swelling and irritation.

Clove

Take some cloves and soak them into water for a few minutes. Then soak a handkerchief in the clove infused water and compress on the infected eye. Don’t rub the wet cloth but hold it for a while on the stye. Clove helps to eliminate pain associated with the stye.

Coriander

Coriander is an old folk remedy to treat styes. To prepare the remedy you need to boil a handful of coriander seeds. Take the warm water in a cup and let it get cold. Now, compress on the painful eyelid for a several times a day. The remedy will reduce the inflammation and diminish the pain associated with the styes.

Onion

Onion is the cheaper and easily getable spice in the kitchen which works excellently in curing a sty. Take a slice of onion and place it on the painful spot of the eyelid. You may feel a burning sensation but don’t worry, it works. Keep it in the place as long as you can bear it.

Bitter gourd tea

Bitter gourd is well known as a vegetable but you can get it in a form of tea. Bitter guard basically detoxifies your body and helps you to get rid of the styes effectively. Drink bitter guard tea in the morning in empty stomach and apply the tea bag compresses after you having your tea. Add a pinch of salt in the tea before you drink it.

Turmeric and milk

A sty happens due to certain bacterial infection. And turmeric contains antibacterial and antifungal properties that can be effective in curing styes. You just take a cup of warm milk and add a few pinches of turmeric powder. Mix and drink it instantly.
